Antoine Granier
Antoine Granier (b.1993) explores the ways that technology can become a vehicle for our spiritual desires. Building on the occult motivations that inspired early technological innovation— from the telephone, to ghost daguerreotypes, to fortune-telling booths— Granier creates wall-mounted machines whose hybrid, magical-cyborg faces conceal a mechanical core. Once activated, poems and dystopian narratives stream from the pieces’ mouths, leaving viewers with fragments of stories in which the corporeal and the spiritual, the human and the botanical, the futuristic and the anachronistic exist in tandem.
Granier received his BA in Visual Arts at the National School of Visual Arts, Paris, FR (2017), and subsequently studied at Le Fresnoy, Studio National des Arts Contemporains, Tourcoing, FR (2020) and his Postgrad in Visual Arts at the School of Arts and Design -- UNAM, Mexico City, MX (2025). He has forthcoming solo exhibitions scheduled at Galeria Ambar Quijano, Mexico City, MX (2025) and Revuelta Queer House, Mexico City, MX (2025). He has been the subject of a solo exhibition at Museo del Juguete Antiguo, Mexico City, MX (2022). Granier currently lives and works in Mexico City, MX.
