DANIEL ADOLFO
PALABRAS DE LLUVIA

September 14 - November 3, 2024

Opening Reception: Saturday, September 14, 11am-4pm

(Piaroa poetry)

THE NOOK at NARANJO 141 is pleased to present Palabras de Lluvia, a site-specific solo exhibition of new paintings by Mexico City-based, Venezuelan-born artist Daniel Adolfo (b.1990).

The collection of works in Palabras de Lluvia meditates on the mutability of water, how its bodies—oceanic and corporeal—can shift from sanguine to stormy in a single breath. Marking a departure from his usual format, the canvases vary from horizontal to vertical, sparse or adorned with chromium droplet-appliques, all installed at an equal horizon. Like the unpredictability of the rain or an introspective search into one's own emotional psyche, the viewer bears witness to a volatile range of currents— tamed within small canvases or let loose within larger ones—that mark an ever-changing temperament.
