Daniel Adolfo
With a deft handle of color, form and mark-making, Daniel Adolfo (b.1990) probes his day-to-day life as a Venezuelan living in Mexico to harken towards something universal. Working in oilstick, acrylic and charcoal on raw grounds, Adolfo creates spacious surfaces marked with epiphanic yet careful gesture. The resulting works transpose fleeting memories, intangible experiences and untrained emotions into stroke, color, and shape, opening a dialogue between the viewer and the artist where subjectivity is prized and decisive meaning is held at bay.
Adolfo received his B.A. in Visual Communication from Prodiseño Escuela de Comunicación Visual, Caracas, VE in 2013. His recent solo exhibitions include shows at Proyecto H Contemporáneo, Mexico City, MX (2024); Umbral Gallery, Mexico City, MX (2021); and Organización Nelson Garrido, Caracas, VE (2016). Adolfo is represented by Proyecto H Contemporáneo in Mexico City, MX and Madrid, ES.
